Principal Applications Administrator

What you'll do

• Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for systemic application escalated issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application-specific support issues for complex, business-critical systems.
• Install and maintain enterprise and laboratory application software, including dedicated hardware and code deployments.
• Lead the development of software modification requirements and interface design specifications.
• Develop work plans and track the status of assigned projects and tasks.
• Execute change requests and qualifications while ensuring compliance with governing regulations.
• Train and mentor staff on application systems and procedures.
• Liaise with internal and external customers to determine and implement long-term issue resolutions.

What we're looking for

• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening where applicable.
• Must be able to work in Richmond, VA, as relocation assistance is not provided.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
• At least 8 years of experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
• Expert understanding of server administration and architecture, including Windows Server, Linux, Microsoft IIS, and server/batch scripting.
• Expert level ability to interact with relational databases, primarily Oracle and some SQL Server.
• Advanced support knowledge of the applications and technology being supported, including desktop operating systems and MS Office.
