Principal Analytics Engineer

What you'll do

• Design a modular semantic layer to provide consistent metrics across BI tools, data science workflows, and AI systems.
• Model internal and third-party data to accurately reflect customer journeys and business processes.
• Lead cross-organizational initiatives to align metric definitions and data governance standards across various business lines.
• Influence build-versus-buy decisions for analytics tooling, semantic layer platforms, and data governance infrastructure.
• Mentor senior analytics engineers and establish technical standards for the analytics engineering organization.
• Partner with executive stakeholders to evolve data infrastructure in support of company objectives.
• Maintain high-availability data and reporting by implementing quality alerting and resolving issues with urgency.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, visualization, or a related technical data role.
• Experience shipping customer-facing, production-grade reporting accurately and on time.
• Expert-level SQL and data modeling skills for designing architectures across multiple business domains.
• Deep experience with semantic layer design, metrics-as-code patterns, and organizational-scale data governance.
• Strong understanding of how AI systems, machine learning workflows, and conversational analytics tools consume structured data.
• Experience evaluating and adopting analytics engineering tooling such as dbt, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Excellent communication skills to gain alignment across product, engineering, finance, sales, and operations teams.
