Principal AI & Data Governance Architect

What you'll do

• Architect end-to-end AI and data governance frameworks covering data classification, lineage, model provenance, and audit trails.
• Translate legal and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions and platform capabilities.
• Define the strategy for classifying and cataloging sensitive, regulated, and proprietary data assets at scale.
• Embed governance controls natively into the ML infrastructure to ensure compliance is the path of least resistance.
• Develop standards, playbooks, and architectural patterns for engineering teams to adopt consistently across services.
• Translate complex compliance obligations into precise technical requirements for data engineering and ML research teams.
• Synthesize governance risks and architectural trade-offs into clear positions for technical and executive leadership.

What we're looking for

• Deep experience in data governance, ML governance, or compliance architecture within complex, large-scale technical environments.
• Deep understanding of ML workflows, data engineering, and ML infrastructure.
• Proven track record of working cross-functionally with legal, privacy, compliance, and engineering teams to implement governance solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to refine legal and regulatory requirements into technical architecture and engineering deliverables.
• Ability to translate prescriptive or loosely defined compliance obligations into precise technical requirements.
• Experience engaging upstream with legal and policy stakeholders to shape technically coherent policy guidance.
• Familiarity with AI/ML regulatory frameworks and emerging legislation (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar degree (Master's degree preferred).
