Pre-NTP Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do

• Manage the development of mechanical designs for new CCGT power plants and generation projects.
• Select and review major equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, and rotating equipment.
• Review process flow diagrams and piping designs to ensure operational consistency.
• Evaluate all mechanical interfaces such as gas and water interconnection requirements.
• Oversee the design of steam, water, and chemical storage and delivery systems.
• Develop technical specifications for project development from feasibility studies through EPC contract signature.
• Coordinate with Owner’s Engineers and subject matter experts to refine mechanical design details.
• Ensure all designs comply with AES Indiana commercial expectations and safety standards.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or another relevant technical area.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in technical design, including large CCGT and other generation projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical design and/or construction experience.
• Proficiency in applicable electrical codes and standards for large power generation projects.
• Experience in reading and understanding project schedules and schedule principles.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Construction and commissioning experience for conventional generation (fossil fuel) projects (preferred).
• Work authorization.
