The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. This role involves conducting research on assigned areas, preparing technical papers for publication, and investigating the feasibility of various scientific principles. The work focuses on translating engineering and neuroscience discoveries into clinically meaningful applications for behavior, cognition, and functional recovery.
Conduct research on specific areas of study as assigned by managing staff.
Prepare research reports and technical papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Investigate the feasibility of applying various scientific principles and theories.
Develop advanced analytical models and systems to support strategic and tactical decisions.
Design, implement, and manage complex human-subject research studies independently.
Perform quantitative data analysis, signal processing, and multimodal data integration.
Contribute to grant writing, specifically NIH-style proposals and progress reports.
Utilize neuromodulation technologies and multimodal neuroimaging techniques for data collection.
What we're looking for
Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Neuroscience, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related engineering or quantitative discipline.
Less than 5 years of research experience following completion of a Ph.D.
Advanced understanding of non-invasive neuromodulation technologies including TMS, tACS, tDCS, TI, focused ultrasound, and shock wave stimulation.
Advanced knowledge of human neurophysiology, motor control, neuromuscular function, pain mechanisms, and neural circuits underlying behavior and cognition.
Knowledge of multimodal neuroimaging principles and methodologies including EEG, NIRS, MRI, and diffusion imaging techniques.
Demonstrated ability to independently design, implement, and manage complex human-subject research studies.
Strong quantitative data analysis, signal processing, and computational modeling skills with experience in machine learning and statistical modeling.
