As a Platform Engineering Lead, you will lead the team responsible for end-user platform engineering, image management, and endpoint protection. You will drive technical direction, own platform roadmaps, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable computing services across the FDIC environment. Your daily responsibilities include managing desktop and mobile OS engineering, software distribution, and unified endpoint management while collaborating with security teams and vendors to resolve complex issues. You will build and maintain core images, develop secure baseline configurations using DISA STIGs, and provide Tier 3 support for escalated hardware and software problems. The role requires expertise in Microsoft Intune, Windows 11, MS Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike EDR Platform, and PowerShell scripting. You will solve critical infrastructure challenges by managing lifecycle updates, automating processes, and maintaining secure configurations for thousands of devices across the enterprise.

What you'll do

  • Lead the Platform Engineering team in managing desktop/mobile OS engineering, image management, and endpoint protection.
  • Drive technical direction and own roadmaps for secure, scalable end-user computing services.
  • Develop and maintain desktop and mobile OS baseline configurations using Group Policies and Modern Policies.
  • Script, package, and test software applications for Windows and macOS platforms.
  • Oversee the deployment and troubleshooting of EPP agents and manage central management consoles.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of core images, including testing, validation, and quarterly updates.
  • Provide Tier 3 engineering support to resolve escalated desktop and mobile technical issues.
  • Automate platform processes and develop secure baselines to improve performance and reduce incidents.

What we're looking for

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have a BI Full 6C (T4) Public Trust.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows 11, Virtual Desktop environments, MS Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft 365, and CrowdStrike EDR Platform.
  • Expertise in OS engineering, image engineering, Group Policies/Modern Policies, secure baseline development (including DISA STIGs), and endpoint protection engineering.
  • Proficiency with endpoint privilege management and strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell preferred).
  • Experience working in a managed services IT environment (preferred).
