The Physical Security Avigilon Administrator joins the security team to support the design, deployment, administration, and optimization of enterprise security systems. This role involves maintaining and enhancing video surveillance, access control, and security monitoring platforms to ensure a resilient environment. Key responsibilities include administering Avigilon Control Center video management systems, configuring Avigilon Alta Access or ACM systems, and managing hardware like cameras, NVRs, and card readers. The position requires troubleshooting IP-based security devices, managing network connectivity, and conducting root cause analysis for system outages. Candidates must possess expertise in Avigilon Unity, ONVIF integration, TCP/IP networking, and PoE switching. The work focuses on solving technical security problems through video analytics, appearance search, and integrating physical security hardware with broader organizational cybersecurity standards and infrastructure.
Administer, configure, and support Avigilon Control Center (ACC) video management systems.
Install and troubleshoot Avigilon cameras, NVRs, encoders, and related infrastructure.
Configure access control hardware including card readers, controllers, and locking devices.
Manage access permissions, credential management, and security policies for enterprise systems.
Monitor system health and respond to security incidents, outages, and hardware failures.
Support investigations through video retrieval, exporting, and evidence preservation.
Collaborate with IT teams on network connectivity, VLANs, and cybersecurity requirements.
Develop technical documentation, as-built drawings, and standard operating procedures.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Security Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience supporting enterprise physical security systems.
Hands-on experience with Avigilon Control Center (ACC), Avigilon cameras, NVR appliances, and Avigilon Access Control Manager (ACM) or Alta Access.
Strong knowledge of IP networking, video surveillance systems, access control technologies, and security system integrations.
Experience troubleshooting physical security hardware and software.
Experience with Genetec, LenelS2, Software House CCURE, or Milestone systems (preferred).
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, cloud-managed security platforms, and mobile credential technologies (preferred).
Avigilon Certified Professional (ACP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), SIA, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA certifications (preferred).
