OS Power and Performance Software Development Engineer in Test

What you'll do

• Design and implement automated tests to verify system telemetry data across all Apple devices and platforms.
• Review and qualify telemetry contributions from development teams to ensure data structure, completeness, and correctness before production.
• Validate telemetry for on-device AI features, including large language model inference and Siri intelligence workflows.
• Build and maintain automation infrastructure that performs telemetry validation at scale across multiple platforms simultaneously.
• Develop dashboards and reporting pipelines to provide real-time telemetry health signals to stakeholders.
• Triage and investigate telemetry regressions while coordinating with development teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Improve internal tooling to automate the path from developer submission to validated test coverage.
• Identify gaps in coverage for new devices or features and build automation to close those gaps.

What we're looking for

• Experience with Unix based systems.
• Experience with SQL or other database structures.
• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
• 3+ years experience with test automation and frameworks including scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash.
• Ability to triage and debug problems (QA experience or exposure to good testing methodologies preferred).
• 3+ years of proven experience leading cross-functional, technical projects and initiatives (preferred).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills (preferred).
• Experience leveraging LLM-based tools for developing and testing code (preferred).
