Software Development Engineer in Test, CoreOS Quality Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and implement integration, system, and end-to-end test coverage using C and Python.
• Build and extend automated test harnesses and shared validation infrastructure for scalable testing.
• Investigate and root cause complex test failures spanning userspace, kernel, hardware, and infrastructure layers.
• Partner with development teams to define test strategies for concurrency libraries, IPC, and process lifecycles.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify systemic risks and gaps in test coverage.
• Communicate quality status, key risks, and data-driven reports to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
• Proactively define validation plans for low-level systems and Darwin Ecosystem projects.

What we're looking for

• Solid understanding of operating systems and UNIX fundamentals with excellent analytical and debugging skills.
• 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as C and Python.
• Experience developing automated tests and test infrastructure.
• Skilled in testing methodologies, test planning, and defining validation strategies.
• Ability to independently manage QA efforts across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent collaborative skills with outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience using a debugger (e.g., LLDB) to diagnose low-level failures and familiarity with security testing practices (preferred).
