As an NPI Engineer, Actuators, you will join the team to develop highly automated manufacturing and pilot lines from concept through production for new and existing products. You will drive the development of innovative manufacturing processes to improve battery performance and cost while executing Designs of Experiments to optimize for manufacturability and quality. Your daily responsibilities include managing the installation, qualification, and ramp of development lines, generating machine specifications, and serving as a liaison between design and manufacturing teams. The role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems, specifically focusing on electric motors or actuators. You will utilize NX for test fixture design and may use Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for data analysis and automation. What you'll do

Develop highly automated manufacturing and pilot lines from initial concept through to full production.
Drive the development of innovative manufacturing processes to improve battery performance and reduce costs.
Execute Designs of Experiments (DoEs) to characterize boundary conditions and optimize for manufacturability.
Act as the primary liaison between design and manufacturing teams to optimize products for automation.
Optimize equipment and processes to increase yield, throughput, and availability while reducing lead times.
Manage the installation, qualification, and ramp of various development lines.
Generate technical machine specifications, standards, and necessary documentation.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing and launching manufacturing assembly lines from concept to production for products with actuators or drive systems.
3+ years of experience in manufacturing and design of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
At least 1 year of experience specifically focused on electric motors or electromechanical actuators.
Proficiency in CAD software, specifically NX, for test fixture design and design for manufacturability.
Experience with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or other scripting languages for data analysis and test automation.
Familiarity with project and documentation management tools like Jira and Confluence.
Experience in the aerospace, defense, or robotics industry.
