What you'll do

Design and develop actuation systems for control surfaces and electromechanical or hydraulic subsystems from concept through production.
Define technical requirements for torque, speed, precision, and environmental factors in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Select, size, and validate actuators, motors, gearboxes, and linkages to meet performance, weight, and reliability targets.
Integrate actuator control, feedback, and health monitoring into the vehicle's flight control system with electrical and software teams.
Conduct structural and dynamic analyses and develop test plans to verify performance under flight-representative conditions.
Execute component-level bench testing, subsystem integration, and vehicle-level ground and flight test campaigns.
Optimize designs for development speed, mass, manufacturability, and cost while maintaining high reliability standards.

What we're looking for

BS or MS in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in actuation, electromechanical, or servo-controlled systems.
Proven CAD skills with the ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings (NX preferred).
Experience selecting and sizing actuators, motors, gearboxes, and drivetrain components for high-reliability applications.
MATLAB/SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE experience for actuator or servo system modeling.
Proficiency in hands-on fabrication, machining, shop tools, welding, soldering, and rapid prototyping.
Ability to travel up to 25% or more as required.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
