As a Mission Software Engineer, you will join the team to solve complex problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, and robotics while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs. You will own software solutions deployed to customers, write code to scale mission capabilities, collaborate across teams to build and test functionality, and create metrics for debugging and monitoring. The role involves triaging issues, root causing failures, and partnering with end-users to translate needs into features. You will utilize programming languages such as Go, Rust, or Python, along with frontend frameworks like React or Angular. Your work focuses on building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis within the domain of defense technology. Specifically, you will contribute to systems that integrate various data streams into a real-time command and control center using advanced autonomy and sensor fusion.
Own the software solutions that are deployed directly to customers.
Write code to improve products and scale mission capabilities for more users.
Create and analyze metrics used for debugging and monitoring systems.
Triage issues, identify root causes of failures, and coordinate necessary next steps.
Translate end-user needs into functional features while balancing engineering constraints.
Travel up to 25% of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world.
What we're looking for
Strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
Experience working with programming languages including Go, Rust, or Python.
Experience working with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis.
Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI clearance.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
4+ years of professional industry experience (preferred); experience with safety critical functionality or distributed communication networks (preferred).
