JOB TITLE: Member of Technical Staff - Responsible AI (CoreAI)
As a Member of Technical Staff within the Responsible AI Group of the CoreAI organization, you will develop high-performance, highly available AI services to ensure developers can build trustworthy and safe applications at scale. You will prototype, build, and iterate on tools that identify, measure, mitigate, and monitor risks in AI-generated content across text, image, audio, and video formats. Your daily work involves navigating ambiguous requirements to ship production-ready features while collaborating with stakeholders to drive project plans. You must possess technical engineering experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. The role requires expertise in generative AI systems, including LLMs and diffusion models, along with experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and using AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot.
Prototype, build, and iterate on new Responsible AI tools and capabilities for developers.
Ship high-performance, highly available AI services that enable responsible AI usage.
Identify, measure, mitigate, and monitor Responsible AI risks across multimodal content.
Drive project plans, release plans, and deliverables for cross-product features.
Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance through new technical patterns.
Execute rapid prototyping and iterative learning cycles based on tight feedback loops.
Share technical knowledge and best practices with other engineers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Experience working with generative AI systems including LLMs, diffusion models, and multimodal models.
Experience with prompt engineering, evaluation, or fine-tuning of AI models.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
Familiarity with Responsible AI and security concepts or a strong interest in learning them.
Experience working in fast-paced, experimental environments like startups or incubation teams.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check.
Experience working on safety, alignment, or Responsible AI (preferred).
6+ years of technical engineering experience designing and delivering highly available, large-scale cloud services (preferred).
4+ years of technical engineering experience with machine learning models (preferred).
