Mechatronics Engineer

What you'll do

• Own and maintain the calibration lab hardware including fixtures, targets, lighting, and camera rigs.
• Design and build fixtures, jigs, and simple mechanisms using CAD, 3D printing, and machine shop tools.
• Build prototype circuits and wiring to integrate sensors, lighting, and triggers.
• Integrate off-the-shelf components into stable and repeatable calibration stations.
• Characterize station repeatability and perform root-cause analysis to fix hardware drift.
• Read and modify Python scripts that drive the lab hardware.
• Define requirements for and review deliverables from remote mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
• Document setups and procedures while managing vendors, parts, and general lab upkeep.

What we're looking for

• BS/BA in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience building and maintaining lab or test hardware.
• Ability to produce CAD models and manufacturing drawings independently.
• Experience designing, tolerancing, and building fixtures, jigs, or mechanisms, including 3D-printed parts.
• Ability to build prototype circuits and wiring while troubleshooting power and signal issues with standard lab equipment.
• Ability to read and modify Python scripts.
• MS in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of computer vision, optics, opto-mechanical systems, or AR/VR hardware (preferred).
