What you'll do

Drive automation and fixture design activities including machine design, vision, controls, and component fixturing for manufacturing processes.
Create CAD concepts for assembly fixtures to reduce costs and improve part yields.
Develop modular fixture designs to ensure equipment can be reused across multiple product generations.
Evaluate automation implementation risks and create technical requirements and RFP packages for contract manufacturers.
Provide onsite technical support during FAT/SAT, stress runs, and production ramps to ensure equipment capability.
Conduct R&D activities with industry partners to deliver improvements in process capability.
Design precision fixtures for advanced processes like laser welding, dispensing, and insert molding.
Analyze data using statistical methods to drive root cause analysis and process optimization.

What we're looking for

BS/MS degree in engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, automation, mechatronics, robotics, or equivalent).
5+ years of experience in automation, robotics applications, and fixture design for mass production.
Expertise in machine and fixture design.
Experience designing, deploying, and project managing automated lines with machine vision, motion control, and sensors.
Extensive experience using CAD to design mechanical components and create engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
Ability to perform data analysis using statistical methods such as process capability and correlation.
Expertise in specific applications like vision-guided assembly, precision dispense, and laser welding.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time.
