As an iPhone Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) at Apple, you will join the Operations and Supply Chain team as a senior-level expert responsible for driving the development of key mechanical manufacturing processes across Apple’s global supply chain. Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with industrial design, product design, and manufacturing partners to innovate on assembly fixture designs through CAD conceptualization, automate manufacturing processes, and ensure commercial viability by evaluating costs and ROI. You will work closely with engineering teams to identify automation needs, provide feedback, and create proof of concepts for new technologies. Additionally, you will manage detailed design reviews, execute proof of concepts, and coordinate with overseas counterparts to resolve issues and implement data logging requirements. Essential skills include machine and fixture design expertise, experience with CAD software, and knowledge of robotics, motion control, and sensors. This role requires extensive travel both domestically and internationally to support manufacturing processes and ensure timely project completion.
