The Manager of Research and Instructional Computing leads a cross-campus team of system administrators supporting instructional systems, research computing, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning initiatives across three schools. This role involves owning the roadmap, capacity planning, and operations for research and teaching compute platforms, specifically the Unicorn cluster. The manager sets technical standards and priorities to align investments with faculty needs. What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree, 5 years to 7 years or equivalent combination of education and experience installing, configuring, and maintaining workstations and servers in a multi-vendor environment.
Experience with High-Performance Computing clusters utilizing advanced GPUs and CPU computing.
Experience with Artificial Intelligence infrastructure.
Knowledge of computer networks, network services, and distributed computing, particularly TCP/IP and Ethernet.
Demonstrated ability to independently organize, develop, and implement major projects at a college-wide integrated service level.
Ability to work with and provide solutions for graduate-level researchers.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
15+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams, preferably in higher education, research, or HPC environments (preferred).
