Manager I, Engineering, Cloud FinOps

What you'll do

• Lead a team of engineers building a platform to allocate cloud costs to specific products and customers.
• Own the publication contract with Finance to provide versioned metrics with reproducible history for closed periods.
• Manage metric contracts with platform teams to shift cost facts to the teams that generate them.
• Partner with Revenue Engineering to join cost data with revenue data for margin analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement in the accuracy and coverage of product and customer cost data.
• Reduce key-person risk by spreading ownership of runtime and compiler architecture across the engineering team.
• Use AI tooling to increase the team's development speed and overall technical leverage.

What we're looking for

• Experience managing data platform or data engineering teams building batch and pipeline systems judged on correctness and reproducibility.
• Experience shipping versioned publications with effective dates, backfill, and reproducible history.
• Experience holding delivery commitments with teams outside of your direct reporting line.
• Domain experience in metering, usage-based billing, cloud cost, revenue data, or financial data platforms.
• Ability to set contracts, negotiate boundaries, and drive a roadmap independently without a product manager.
• Experience owning systems whose output is audited or closed by Finance (SOX scope, month-end close, revenue recognition) (preferred).
• Experience building graph datasets or retrieval-grounded systems where every answer cites its source (preferred).
