Manager - Exploratory Analysis provides statistical expertise to support research and development organizations in drug discovery, target identification, and biomarker exploration for precision medicine. Working independently with translational scientists and clinicians, the manager designs, collects, analyzes, and reports multi-dimensional biomarker data from early discovery through late-stage clinical development. Key responsibilities include developing biomarker analysis plans, identifying markers from omics and imaging data, and performing statistical analyses to characterize patient subgroups or disease progression. The role requires expertise in pharmaceutical, clinical trial, and healthcare statistics, as well as experience with machine learning, AI, and predictive modeling. Candidates must be able to integrate high-dimensional data while managing issues like overfitting and multiple testing control using cross-validation and random resampling. This position solves complex problems regarding pharmacodynamic analysis, safety biomarkers, and companion diagnostic test development for various drug programs.
Provide statistical expertise for drug discovery, target identification, and clinical biomarker exploration.
Design, analyze, and report multi-dimensional biomarker data from early discovery to late-stage clinical development.
Develop biomarker sections of clinical trial protocols and corresponding analysis plans.
Identify markers and signatures from omics, imaging, and other high-dimensional data for patient stratification.
Perform statistical analyses independently while identifying and resolving issues in study designs.
Evaluate software suitability and develop novel statistical methodologies for scientific investigations.
Present complex statistical results clearly to non-statisticians and collaborate on the publication of research.
What we're looking for
Must have an MS with 6+ years of experience or a PhD with 2+ years of experience in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.
Experience in pharmaceutical, clinical trial, and/or healthcare statistics is required.
Preferred experience includes discovery/pre-clinical studies and clinical biomarker modeling and analysis.
Preferred experience includes Machine Learning, AI, and predictive modeling.
Must have high technical competence and effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to integrate high dimensional data while managing overfitting and multiple testing control methods like cross-validation and random resampling.
Experience in bioinformatics, target identification, and biomarker research is highly preferred.
Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and identify solutions for complex analytical issues.
