Lead, Systems Engineer - Space Operations Curriculum Developer / Instructor serves as a critical role within the space operations team to support mission-critical national security objectives. The individual is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs, including lesson materials, assessments, and scenario-based instruction for personnel performing mission monitoring, status reporting, and Launch and Early Operations. Key responsibilities include applying Instructional Systems Design principles like ADDIE or DoD/USSF processes to create classroom and simulator-based solutions. The role requires expertise in space operations, satellite command and control, and orbital warfare while utilizing tools such as learning management systems and multimedia products. The candidate will bridge the gap between complex system functionalities and practical training for operators, ensuring readiness across various mission support functions including anomaly response and orbital maneuvers within a high-tempo environment.
Develop and maintain space operations training curricula aligned with mission requirements and system configurations.
Create instructional materials including lesson plans, student guides, job aids, and multimedia content using ISD principles.
Deliver instructor-led training in classroom, lab, simulator, and operational environments for personnel qualification and readiness.
Provide hands-on system instruction and performance-based training to operators and mission support staff.
Assess training effectiveness through student feedback and performance indicators to implement continuous curriculum improvements.
Update training products based on software updates, hardware changes, and evolving mission requirements.
Serve as a subject matter expert during technical meetings, exercise planning, and system integration activities.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience, a graduate degree and 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with SAP eligibility.
Minimum 3 years of experience applying Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies like ADDIE or DoD/USSF processes to technical training programs.
Minimum 3 years of experience in space operations, LEOPS, satellite command and control, or related aerospace/defense operations.
Completion of an accredited military or civilian instructor course, curriculum development course, or equivalent formal instructional certification (preferred).
Experience with Satellite Command and Control (Sat C2) operations (preferred).
Experience developing training for classified systems or within secure operational environments (preferred).
