Lead, Software Engineering - Signal Processing joins the Navigation Solutions team to deliver advanced military GPS and Position, Navigation, and Timing capabilities. This role provides technical leadership for the development, analysis, and debugging of robust embedded software for GPS user equipment and simulators. You will perform complex software engineering assignments, including interpreting customer specifications, conducting code reviews, and managing programs from conceptual design through completion. Key responsibilities involve developing signal processing algorithms and integrating software on target hardware to ensure resilient performance in denied or degraded environments. Required skills include C/C++, Python, and experience with real-time embedded software, Linux, or Windows. You will utilize tools like Jenkins, Bambo, Jira, and Git while applying knowledge of linear algebra, feedback control, and jamming and spoofing concepts.
Provide technical leadership for C/C++ development, integration, and debugging on target hardware for GPS equipment.
Lead the interpretation of customer specifications to define software design requirements.
Manage software development lifecycles from conceptual design through detail design to final completion.
Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers on the software development team.
Develop and debug robust embedded software to meet strict performance requirements for GPS user equipment.
Lead documentation efforts to communicate design concepts and demonstrate compliance with requirements.
Modify, analyze, and test existing solutions for legacy programs.
Contribute to external proposals and customer engagement efforts as needed.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, and minimum 9 years of relevant experience in real-time embedded software.
Master of Science or advanced degree preferred with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
Minimum of 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of experience in the development or analysis of signal processing algorithms and implementation for GPS systems.
5+ years of experience as a team lead, technical lead, and/or subject matter expert for an embedded software development project.
5+ years of experience as a technical contributor working with DoD / DoW customers or subcontractors.
Ability to obtain and hold a DoD SECRET clearance.
