The Lead Software Engineer joins the team to develop and sustain mission-critical electronic warfare software within a cross-platform embedded environment. This role manages the full software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, automated testing, and CI/CD release. The engineer will build high-reliability software for embedded, real-time, and Linux-based systems, ensuring alignment with open architecture principles like modularity, abstraction, and portability. Key technologies include C++, Rust, Linux systems programming, CMake, GoogleTest, and Jenkins. The position requires expertise in MOSA-aligned implementations, Common SDK, OCE, and CFE concepts to enable technology insertion and reuse. The work involves solving complex technical problems in electronic warfare and RF signal-processing environments, ensuring software interoperability across diverse platform and mission applications while maintaining strict adherence to government reference architectures.
Develop and maintain high-reliability C++ and Rust software for embedded, real-time, and Linux-based systems.
Design and document software architecture using UML and model-based artifacts to ensure modularity and portability.
Implement software capabilities from system requirements with end-to-end traceability through verification.
Apply open architecture principles to create modular, reusable, and interoperable software components.
Build, deploy, and troubleshoot software across multiple targets, lab environments, and platform configurations.
Create and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests while improving automation and code coverage.
Support CI/CD pipelines for builds, static analysis, security scanning, and artifact publication.
Provide technical leadership in software design, secure coding practices, and architectural consistency across the team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of relevant experience, Graduate Degree and 7 years of related experience, or 13 years of related experience without a degree.
Active Secret Clearance required.
7+ years of professional C/C++ software development experience (preferred).
5+ years of experience developing software for embedded real-time systems (preferred).
3+ years of professional RUST software development experience (preferred).
3+ years of experience in software architecture/design using UML and requirements-driven development (preferred).
3+ years of experience with automated testing and CI tools such as CMake, GoogleTest, and Jenkins (preferred).
