Lead Software Engineer - Workday Compensation will serve as both a technical and people leader within the compensation product portfolio. The role involves driving the delivery, support, and continuous enhancement of Workday Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation capabilities. Key responsibilities include managing Workday configuration, feature delivery, annual compensation cycle readiness, production support, and release management while coaching a team of Product Engineers. The successful candidate will design solutions that align with corporate policies and ensure high-quality user experiences. Required technical skills include expertise in Workday Core/Advanced Compensation, Enterprise Interface Builder, reporting, dashboards, and calculated fields. Candidates should possess deep knowledge of compensation administration, salary planning, and incentive programs. Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of Workday Core and Advanced Compensation modules.
Provide technical leadership and coaching to a team of Product Engineers.
Partner with product managers to prioritize solutions aligned with compensation programs and business objectives.
Manage annual compensation cycle readiness, production support, and release management activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes and enhance the user experience.
Oversee testing activities including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Provide technical input for product strategy, estimation, solution design, and delivery planning.
Track and improve key operational, quality, and delivery metrics for the compensation portfolio.
What we're looking for
5+ years of Workday experience with expertise in Core Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Enterprise Interface Builder, reporting, dashboards, and calculated fields.
Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
Strong understanding of compensation administration, salary planning, incentive programs, and Total Rewards processes.
Experience gathering requirements, designing solutions, testing functionality, and supporting production environments.
Workday certification in Compensation and/or Advanced Compensation (preferred).
Experience supporting large-scale compensation planning cycles in a global enterprise environment (preferred).
Experience with Workday Extend, Orchestrate, or Workday AI capabilities (preferred).
