As a Lead Software Engineer on the Application Software team, you will lead a team of engineers from both technical and personnel development perspectives. You will own the system roadmap, including prioritization, implementation, and delivery of highly reliable and available software systems. Your daily work involves designing and producing solutions to enable the rapid build and reuse of Starship, as well as designing next-generation manufacturing software for high throughput factories. You will utilize object-oriented programming, specifically with Python, C#, .NET, Go, or Java, alongside front-end frameworks like Angular or React and databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server. This role solves critical manufacturing and production problems to accelerate launch vehicle production and support the growth of the Starlink network.

What you'll do

Directly manage a team of software engineers including technical and personnel development.
Own all aspects of a system roadmap including prioritization, implementation, and delivery.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science with 3+ years of software development experience.
6+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree.
1+ years of experience with object-oriented programming.
1+ years of experience with leading software teams or projects.
Programming experience in Python, C#, .NET, Go, Java, or similar object-oriented language (preferred).
Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework (preferred).
Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies (preferred).
4+ years of experience building single page web applications (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
