As a Lead Software Engineer - Rates Risk Engineer within the Rates Tech team, you will join an agile team focused on delivering secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. Your daily responsibilities include driving the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, conducting code reviews, and automating the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability. You must utilize Python, relational and NoSQL databases, and the full Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including CI/CD and application resiliency. This role involves solving technical problems within the financial risk stack, specifically addressing rates products like Swaps and Options while translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.

What you'll do

  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
  • Design and execute creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems beyond conventional approaches.
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
  • Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
  • Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions while explaining technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve automation value.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience with financial risk stack platforms, rates products, or quantitative finance concepts (preferred).
