As a Lead Software Engineer within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will join an agile team to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. What you'll do

Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.
Write secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing across the team.
Utilize SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to increase the value of software delivery.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, specifically Python or Java.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
Experience in Agentic AI, MCP development & cloud native (preferred).
