As a Lead Software Engineer - Python/Automation within the Corporate Sector - Infrastructure Platforms - Storage team, you will join an agile team to build and deliver trusted, scalable technology products. You will design and deliver solutions for complex business and technical challenges across the storage product domain, building secure production software in Python. Your daily work involves troubleshooting distributed systems, conducting root-cause analysis, and driving the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices. You will utilize tools including FastAPI, Django, RabbitMQ, and Cockroach DB while managing the full Software Development Life Cycle. Key responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, leading communities of practice, and implementing cloud-native concepts like containerization and AWS. You will focus on improving operational stability by automating remediation of recurring issues and modernizing legacy systems.
Design and deliver high-quality production software in Python to solve complex storage product challenges.
Build secure, scalable software using best practices for testing, code review, observability, and performance tuning.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems using leading root-cause analysis techniques.
Mentor junior engineers through coaching, pairing, and code reviews to raise overall engineering standards.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements and propose architectures aligned with business goals.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing strategies, and production operations/stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, Fast API, Django, or Rest API design.
Experience with distributed systems and messaging, such as RabbitMQ or equivalent.
Experience with modern data stores such as Cockroach DB or equivalent distributed SQL/NoSQL systems.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security automation.
Practical cloud-native experience with containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and AWS (preferred).
