As a Lead Software Engineer - Python/Automation within the Corporate Sector - Infrastructure Platforms - Storage team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design and deliver high-quality production software to solve complex business challenges across the storage product domain while troubleshooting issues in distributed systems. Your daily work involves building secure solutions using Python, FastAPI, Django, and Rest API design, while managing infrastructure involving RabbitMQ, Cockroach DB, and AWS cloud-native technologies. You will drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed. Additionally, you will lead communities of practice, mentor junior engineers, and manage the full software development life cycle, including CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code, to ensure operational stability and reliability for large-scale storage systems.
Design and deliver technical solutions for complex challenges within the storage product domain.
Build secure, high-quality production software using Python with a focus on testing and performance tuning.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Identify opportunities to automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Lead communities of practice to promote leading-edge technologies and align requirements with business goals.
Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems using advanced root-cause analysis.
Mentor junior engineers through coaching, pairing, and code reviews to raise engineering standards.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing strategies, and production operations/stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, Fast API, Django, Rest API, or Containers.
Experience with distributed systems and messaging, specifically RabbitMQ or equivalent technologies.
Experience with modern data stores like Cockroach DB or other distributed SQL/NoSQL systems.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and performance standards.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security automation.
Practical cloud-native experience with containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and AWS (preferred); experience with storage systems or platform engineering (preferred).
