Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and build durable, long-running workflows using Temporal in Node.js/TypeScript to manage the member action lifecycle.
• Architect and implement the end-to-end action delivery pipeline using Transactional Outbox patterns and Kafka-based event flows.
• Develop features for state reconciliation, idempotency controls, retry/backoff mechanisms, and dead-letter queue handling.
• Integrate systems with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) to ensure reliable decision activation and downstream delivery.
• Write production code for Temporal workflows, Node.js services, and Kafka producers and consumers.
• Make high-level architectural decisions regarding state machine modeling, schema evolution, and API contracts.
• Establish monitoring, tracing, and alerting systems to ensure observability across all delivery pipelines.
• Lead a team of engineers and contractors by conducting code reviews and managing project timelines.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field.
• 6+ years of full stack software engineering experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in a tech-lead or senior-lead capacity.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript backend development experience for production services.
• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms, preferably Temporal (or Cadence, Step Functions, or Airflow).
• Expertise in distributed systems including event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and idempotency.
• Experience designing and implementing Kafka producer/consumer patterns and Transactional Outbox patterns.
• Proficiency operating cloud-native systems on Azure using Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
