What you'll do

Communicate directly with Investment Teams, Traders, and Portfolio Managers to bridge requirements without intermediaries.
Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other engineers.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Influence project decision-makers regarding the adoption of leading-edge technologies and engineering practices.
Drive decisions impacting product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific areas of focus.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.
Deploy software updates regularly to production within an agile development environment.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Excellent programming experience in Core Java.
Implementation of TDD and BDD techniques with a focus on mocking frameworks for testing.
Understanding of IoC frameworks in Java, such as native Spring.
Knowledge of next generation messaging and streaming technologies like Kafka, IBM MQ, Solace, or Ignite.
Strong grasp of engineering principles including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and technical processes in areas like cloud, AI, or machine learning.
Experience with trading systems, FIX engines, smart contracts, Ethereum, Python (preferred), or cloud certifications (preferred).
