As a Lead Software Engineer - IP FS Data Protection and Recovery, you will join an agile team within the Infrastructure Platforms Foundational Services Data Protection and Recovery Product Line. You will lead evaluations with external vendors and internal teams regarding architectural designs and system applicability. Key technical requirements include over five years of experience, proficiency in Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB, along with expertise in Jules/Jenkins deployment. You must possess deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, CI/CD, infrastructure technologies like storage and compute, and responsible AI integration within secure engineering workflows.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.
Write secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by others.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Utilize SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to increase the value of software delivery.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
5+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in Python and Jules/Jenkins deployment.
Experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity and secure handling within engineering workflows.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Advanced knowledge of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security, FastAPI, NoSQL (MongoDB), and Infrastructure technologies.
