JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack (Scala, React, AWS) The Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack (Scala, React, AWS) joins the Consumer Travel team to build end-to-end customer experiences and innovative fintech travel products. This role involves leading a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers to create solutions that meet regulatory needs. You will own shared foundational components used across multiple engineering groups while delivering robust cloud-based solutions. Daily responsibilities include mentoring engineers, experimenting with new technologies, and collaborating with product managers. The technical stack includes Scala, React, JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, Python, and Go. You will also utilize Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and various AWS tools to solve complex business problems within a distributed microservices architecture.

What you'll do

Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers to create solutions meeting regulatory needs.
Develop and maintain distributed microservices and full-stack systems using Scala and React.
Build and own shared foundational components utilized across multiple engineering groups.
Deliver robust cloud-based solutions using AWS tools, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Implement features for innovative fintech travel products to improve customer experience.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and share knowledge on emerging tech trends.
Utilize a variety of programming languages including JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
Master's Degree (preferred).
7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go (preferred).
3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service (preferred).
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks (preferred).
1+ years of people management experience (preferred).
