JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Java
As a Lead Software Engineer within Corporate Technology, you will join an agile team to build and deliver trusted, scalable, and secure market-leading technology products. You will serve as a core technical contributor, designing creative software solutions, developing high-quality production code, and troubleshooting complex technical problems across various business functions. Your daily work involves leading evaluation sessions with vendors, driving team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, and managing the software development life cycle. You will utilize Java, SQL, UI frameworks like Angular and React, and RESTful APIs to build enterprise-scale applications. Technical requirements include experience with microservices, cloud-native architecture, Hibernate, Oracle, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Apache Kafka. You will also employ JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality and application resiliency.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Design and execute creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems beyond conventional approaches.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing across the team.
Lead communities of practice to promote the awareness and use of leading-edge technologies.
Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve the value realized by automation and engineering workflows.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of hands-on Software Development Life Cycle experience.
Experience implementing solutions using Java, SQL, UI frameworks, Design patterns, microservices, Cloud native architecture, Angular/React, and RESTful APIs.
Experience with SQL performance tuning, JDBC, and ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA.
Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores including Oracle and MongoDB.
Deep knowledge of caching technologies such as Elasticsearch and Redis.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Proficiency in unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito; deep knowledge of messaging platforms like Apache Kafka.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization, orchestration, AWS technology stack, and AI systems like Copilot or Claude (preferred).
