As a Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack within the Consumer & Community Banking Technology Team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You are responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting secure, high-quality production code while leading the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices. Your daily work involves managing the full Software Development Life Cycle, conducting code reviews, and automating remediation for recurring issues to ensure operational stability. You will utilize Java, Java Spring, SQL, NoSQL, JavaScript, React JS, and Angular within a Microservice Architecture using REST and contract-first development. Technical requirements include AWS cloud experience, CI/CD, and application resiliency patterns like circuit breakers. You will also evaluate external vendor architectures and manage production support on a rotation basis.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Design and execute creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems beyond conventional approaches.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve overall development value.
Provide production support on a rotation basis to ensure system reliability.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in Java, Java Spring, SQL, NoSQL DBs, and JavaScript/React JS/Angular.
Experience in Microservice Architecture, REST, and contract-first development and versioning.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Experience with AWS cloud services including infrastructure as code, autoscaling, caching, and managed databases.
Experience developing and maintaining code in large corporate environments and handling production support on a ROTA basis.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Good understanding of DB2/IBM mainframe integrations (preferred).
