Lead Software Engineer, DevOps

What you'll do

• Provide daily production support for electronic trading platforms, focusing on FIX protocol connectivity and order workflow stability.
• Monitor system health and trading signals using Grafana dashboards to track latency, errors, and throughput.
• Lead incident triage and restoration activities during service degradations, including stakeholder communication and post-incident follow-up.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues to implement durable remediations, runbook improvements, and operational automation.
• Develop production code and scripts using Python for health checks, reporting, and environment validation.
• Operate and support Kafka on AWS, managing topic design, consumer groups, and throughput tuning.
• Troubleshoot Linux-based systems using logs, process diagnostics, and network-level checks.
• Partner with development teams to investigate complex trading component issues by interpreting C++ logs and traces.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, frameworks, and tools such as Python, C++, and Bash Scripting.
• Demonstrated experience in DevOps or SRE in mission-critical, low-latency environments with accountability for uptime and incident execution.
• Practical understanding of the FIX protocol.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting capability, including log analysis, process/resource diagnostics, and command-line proficiency.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use in engineering.
• Knowledge of electronic or equities trading environments, including order lifecycle concepts (preferred).
• Exposure to C++ sufficient to assist with investigation, such as reading stack traces and logs (preferred).
• Familiarity with ATLAS or similar internal platforms used for production operations (preferred).
• Basic networking knowledge relevant to troubleshooting connectivity and performance (preferred).
