As a Lead Software Engineer – Cloud AWS Resiliency within the Deposits Platform team, you will serve as a core technical contributor focused on building secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will lead end-to-end disaster recovery tests, develop overarching resiliency frameworks, and define critical Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives. Your daily work involves automating disaster recovery provisioning, driving chaos engineering scenarios, and establishing technical playbooks. You will utilize technologies including AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, AWS Backup, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Python, Go, or Bash. Additionally, you will implement AI-assisted engineering practices for code review and testing. This role solves complex architectural and procedural gaps in application resiliency, ensuring high availability and regulatory compliance within a distributed systems environment.

What you'll do

Lead and coordinate end-to-end disaster recovery tests and real-time failover events across the product portfolio.
Develop and maintain overarching resiliency frameworks and automated product offerings for development and infrastructure teams.
Define and monitor Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for all product components.
Automate disaster recovery provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
Drive resiliency testing scenarios and chaos engineering using AWS Fault Injection Service and Resilience Hub.
Establish and execute technical DR playbooks and recovery runbooks with meticulous documentation of dependencies.
Collect and report on DR test artifacts and resilience maturity scores to ensure regulatory compliance.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Disaster Recovery Planning, or Distributed Systems Engineering.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud architectures, including AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, AWS Backup, and multi-AZ/multi-region deployments.
Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Go, or Bash) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (preferred).
