What you'll do

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end disaster recovery tests and real-time failover events across all product applications.
  • Develop and maintain overarching resiliency frameworks for development and infrastructure teams to use as automated offerings.
  • Define and monitor Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for all product components.
  • Automate disaster recovery provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
  • Execute chaos engineering scenarios using AWS Fault Injection Service and Resilience Hub to identify production vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain technical DR playbooks and recovery runbooks with documented sequence mapping and dependencies.
  • Report on DR test artifacts and resilience maturity scores to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
  • 5+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Disaster Recovery Planning, or Distributed Systems Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud architectures, including DR-enabling services and multi-region deployments.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching others on responsible AI practices.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
