As a Lead Software Engineer - AWS/SRE Engineer within the Deposits team of the Consumer & Community Banking Division, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will lead live site management, cloud production practices, and SRE initiatives including service-level indicators, error budgets, and capacity planning. Your daily work involves advancing observability through logging, metrics, and distributed tracing while driving major incident response and root-cause analysis. You will shape end-to-end AWS cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code strategies, and multi-region resiliency plans. Key technical requirements include deep AWS expertise across compute, networking, and security, alongside experience with AI-assisted engineering practices. You will solve complex problems regarding production readiness, cost optimization, and automated anomaly detection within a regulated, high-stakes financial services environment.
Lead live site management, including production readiness, change governance, and incident response.
Define and improve SRE practices such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and capacity planning.
Advance observability through logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and automated anomaly detection.
Drive major incident response, root-cause analysis, and the systematic elimination of recurring issues.
Shape the end-to-end AWS cloud architecture strategy and optimize cloud costs.
Advance resiliency strategies including multi-region, active-active, failover, and disaster recovery.
Promote and establish standards for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices.
Evolve automation and infrastructure-as-code strategies across all product components.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Deep, broad AWS expertise across compute, data, networking, security, and observability with proven production architecture experience.
Proven experience managing cloud-hosted production services and leading Live Site Management practices in complex, business-critical environments.
Strong SRE and observability expertise, including SLI/SLO definition, error budgets, telemetry, distributed tracing, and capacity management.
Demonstrated ability to lead high-severity incident response, perform root-cause analysis, and drive durable remediation across multiple engineering teams.
Experience establishing production readiness standards, operational controls, runbooks, dashboards, and measurable service health objectives.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
Executive communication skills and rigorous, independent judgment in a regulated, high-stakes environment.
