Lead Software Engineer, AI

What you'll do

• Design and own the end-to-end architecture for AI systems, including LLM tools, RAG pipelines, and agent-based workflows.
• Evaluate and guide the fine-tuning of foundation models while establishing safety and accuracy evaluation frameworks.
• Translate clinical care delivery workflows into well-scoped, high-impact AI features in collaboration with product and design teams.
• Ensure all AI systems comply with HIPAA regulations and internal Responsible AI standards.
• Develop and implement custom LLM and agent evaluation frameworks for automated testing at scale.
• Build multi-agent AI systems featuring agent orchestration, tool use, and sandboxed execution environments.
• Standardize quality assurance procedures, oversee testing and debugging, and resolve complex software issues.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years focused on production AI/ML systems.
• Deep experience building with large language models and orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and modern ML tools such as Hugging Face or PyTorch.
• Proven experience designing and deploying RAG pipelines, vector search systems, and multi-agent AI systems.
• Knowledge of model fine-tuning (LoRA, RLHF) and building custom LLM evaluation frameworks.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements and secure handling of protected health information.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries; exposure to clinical NLP or EHR/FHIR data (preferred).
