Lead Software Architect
The Lead Software Architect joins the Denali Software team within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security organization to provide technical leadership in systems engineering and architecture. This role involves leading the end-to-end lifecycle of non-embedded software systems, including design, development, testing, analysis, and maintenance to meet rigorous safety, security, and regulatory standards. The architect translates customer requirements into detailed designs, manages risk assessments, and oversees integration and optimization activities. Key responsibilities include establishing software processes, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The role requires extensive experience with Java, C++, Angular, React.js, HTML, and CSS in cloud environments. The position focuses on solving complex technical challenges within the defense and space domain by ensuring high-performance software systems meet specific certification objectives through robust architecture and rigorous verification processes.
Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance of non-embedded software systems.
Translate system-level and customer requirements into technical models, architectures, algorithms, and detailed designs with clear traceability.
Conduct research to identify risks and evaluate the adoption of emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks.
Direct integration, optimization, debugging, and verification activities to ensure high-performance software and seamless systems.
Establish and monitor software processes, tools, and key performance indicators to align with organizational goals.
Manage the development and maintenance of user documentation and support processes.
Oversee project management tasks including planning, execution, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
Provide technical leadership to ensure designs meet safety, security, and regulatory certification standards.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree required.
Active Top Secret and SCI eligible security clearance required.
U.S. Person status (U.S. Citizen, National, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) required for export control compliance.
10+ years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, code, integration, and test.
10+ years of experience with Java, C++, Angular/React.js, HTML, and CSS languages.
10+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
5+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks.
5+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud environment.
