You will utilize a technical stack including Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. The role focuses on translating complex analytical workflows into production-grade software solutions using DevSecOps practices and AI-assisted development tools to solve specific technical problems within algorithm-heavy systems and modeling environments.

What you'll do

Define the end-to-end architecture for modernizing MATLAB-based algorithms into scalable Python applications.
Design scalable, containerized systems with automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
Lead the development of standalone and cloud-deployable applications for distributed environments.
Architect data solutions utilizing PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch for search and analytics.
Guide engineering teams on software design, implementation, and technical best practices.
Ensure all systems meet specific performance, security, and scalability requirements.
Translate complex analytical workflows into production-grade software using modern architecture patterns.

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience leading software engineering teams and defining architecture standards.
Experience leading modernization of MATLAB-based systems into Python-based platforms.
Experience designing CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
Experience with React and Node.js for full stack web applications.
Experience with PostgreSQL for relational data design and optimization.
Experience with Elasticsearch for search and analytics use cases.
Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Experience with Python for application development and scientific computing (preferred).
Experience in modeling and simulation, or algorithm-heavy systems (preferred).
Experience with DevSecOps, observability, and infrastructure as code (preferred).
Experience with AI-augmented development workflows or agentic tools (preferred).
Master’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering (preferred).
