Lead Platform Engineering

What you'll do

• Manage and mentor a team of platform engineers to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.
• Design, plan, and execute the roadmap for MongoDB's self-service internal developer platform.
• Build and operate large-scale distributed systems on cloud providers like AWS.
• Develop and maintain production Kubernetes clusters using tools like Terraform, Helm, and Crossplane.
• Write and review automation scripts, configuration management, and backend application code in Go.
• Author functional specifications and scoping documents for large-scale platform projects.
• Identify gaps in developer workflows to create automated tooling and improve developer productivity.
• Define and operate against SLIs and SLOs using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

What we're looking for

• Must have at least 2 years of experience managing and mentoring a team of 3 or more engineers.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience owning the design and implementation of large software or infrastructure projects.
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in cloud providers, with AWS strongly preferred.
• Strong backend programming background with fluency in Go or another compiled/strongly-typed language.
• Extensive experience operating production Kubernetes clusters and using CI/CD workflows to deploy services.
• Proficiency in Linux, TCP/IP networking, and standard authentication protocols like OAuth and OIDC.
• Experience with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, metrics, logging, and traces.
• Ability to work from the Gurugram office for a hybrid working model.
