Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Automation

What you'll do

• Design and implement manufacturing technologies to optimize throughput and improve operational cycle times.
• Troubleshoot and maintain custom automation systems and robotics.
• Analyze production processes and workstreams to identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production issues in coordination with quality assurance teams.
• Provide technical support for new product development to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including flowcharts and standard operating procedures.
• Manage the full automation lifecycle from drafting requirements and supplier coordination to testing and production transition.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree and 9 years of automation/manufacturing engineering experience, or a graduate degree and 7 years of experience.
• Minimum of 13 years of automation/manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Chemical, or related engineering (preferred).
• Knowledge of automation systems design involving robotic cells, vision systems, motion control, or testing solutions (preferred).
• Experience programming and sustaining control systems including PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs (preferred).
• Active U.S. Secret clearance (preferred).
• U.S. citizens.
