JOB TITLE: Lead Engineer, Prime Brokerage Technology Vice President
The Lead Engineer, Prime Brokerage Technology Vice President joins the Prime Brokerage Technology team to deliver solutions for institutional clients like hedge funds. This role involves owning cash and fixed-income data processing components while driving an engineering transformation toward cloud-native microservices. You will work within an Agile team to champion developer-led automated testing, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment. Daily responsibilities include participating in design discussions, resolving complex business process problems, and providing technical leadership as a coach to mid-level developers. You will utilize Java, Kotlin, or Scala for JVM development, alongside SQL and relational databases. The role requires expertise in event-based and HTTP/REST architectures, with a focus on migrating legacy systems to stable, scalable environments using Kubernetes, OpenShift, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services.
Deliver and own cash and fixed-income data processing components using Java or Kotlin.
Champion developer-led automated testing as a core engineering practice.
Execute software development within an Agile framework focusing on CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in design, planning, and estimation discussions for system enhancements.
Resolve high-impact problems by evaluating complex business processes and system architectures.
Provide technical leadership and coaching to mid-level developers and analysts.
Define standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation based on system flow.
Partner with management teams to ensure integrated functions meet shared business goals.
What we're looking for
6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role.
Proven background delivering software using an iterative Agile approach.
Track record of quality-led engineering, including developer-led automated testing, CI/CD, microservices, containerized deployment, and cloud engineering.
Hands-on JVM development experience using Kotlin, Java, or Scala.
Solid understanding of Event-based architectures and HTTP/REST-based architectures.
Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Degree in a technical or quantitative discipline preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field) (preferred).
Familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a strong plus (preferred).
