TL;DR · Lead Integration/EDI Architect

As a Lead Integration/EDI Architect, you will lead the design, modernization, and evolution of enterprise B2B and EDI integration platforms. You will be responsible for creating scalable, secure, and resilient architectures that support mission-critical Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay workflows. Your daily work involves balancing current-state platform stability with forward-looking initiatives to reduce technical debt and implement automated, AI-enabled systems. You will serve as a subject matter expert on the full EDI lifecycle, including partner onboarding, data transformation, connectivity protocols, and transaction orchestration. The role requires expertise in distributed systems, API-led and event-driven integration patterns, and performance optimization. You will translate complex business objectives into technical designs while ensuring high availability and integrity for large-scale transaction flows within a complex supply chain environment to improve overall operational efficiency and partner experience.

What you'll do

  • Design and evolve scalable architecture for enterprise B2B/EDI platforms while balancing current stability with future modernization.
  • Translate business objectives into secure, high-performing integration designs across connectivity, transformation, and orchestration layers.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure EDI systems meet KPIs for availability, performance, and transaction integrity.
  • Lead the resolution of systemic issues and major disruptions in mission-critical transaction flows.
  • Drive modernization initiatives to reduce technical debt and implement API-led or event-driven architectures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for complex scenarios including partner onboarding and data exchange management.
  • Guide engineering teams through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization of distributed systems.
  • Implement automation and AI-led improvements to enhance operational efficiency and platform observability.

What we're looking for

  • Degree or equivalent required; 10+ years of experience required (lesser experience acceptable with a Master's or Doctorate).
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture focusing on enterprise integration and EDI/B2B ecosystems.
  • Proven expertise in designing and operating large-scale, distributed systems for high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing.
  • Hands-on experience across the EDI lifecycle including partner onboarding, data transformation, connectivity protocols, and transaction orchestration.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance platform operations accountability with forward-looking architecture and modernization initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of operational excellence principles including system reliability, observability, performance optimization, and incident management.
  • Experience leveraging automation and emerging AI capabilities to improve platform efficiency, scalability, and decision-making.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S, now or in the future, without the support from McKesson.
