Lead, Integration and Test Engineer
The Lead, Integration and Test Engineer joins a specialized team supporting the RS-25 Hardware in the Loop Lab to facilitate lunar missions. This role focuses on the operation, maintenance, enhancement, and certification of test equipment used to conduct simulated launch tests with the RS-25 engine control system. The engineer will perform failure analysis, develop test operation procedures, and manage requirements capture, drawing development, and vendor evaluation for equipment upgrades. Key responsibilities include ensuring the seamless integration of flight hardware and software with specialized test systems. Required expertise includes experience in custom electronic test equipment design, system architecture, and requirement verification. Technical competencies involve using oscilloscopes, power supplies, waveform generators, and logic analyzers, alongside knowledge of communication protocols, measurement techniques, and automation software to ensure compliance for complex aerospace propulsion systems.
Maintain, certify, and ensure the operational readiness of special test equipment for the RS-25 Hardware in the Loop Lab.
Perform failure analysis to identify issues and implement corrective and preventative actions for hardware and software systems.
Coordinate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of test equipment, flight hardware, and flight software.
Manage test equipment development projects including requirements capture, drawing development, vendor evaluation, and validation.
Develop formal procedures for test operations and the certification of test equipment.
Verify that test systems comply with all specified system requirements.
Utilize measurement and sampling techniques to record data using electronic measurement tools like oscilloscopes and power supplies.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, a Graduate degree with 7 years of experience, or no degree with 13 years of experience in electronic integration and testing.
5 years of industry experience developing custom electronic test equipment including system architecture, hardware design, and requirement verification/validation.
Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain the required security clearance.
Knowledge of measurement and sampling techniques using electronics measurement equipment (preferred).
Knowledge of communication protocols for commanding and automating lab equipment like oscilloscopes and power supplies (preferred).
Experience in verifying test systems for compliance with system requirements (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic test systems and implement corrective actions (preferred).
Experience with rocket engines, propulsion systems, or automation software (preferred).
