What you'll do

  • Drive workstreams for NAS reference architectures, resiliency patterns, performance engineering standards, and automation guardrails.
  • Define, document, and govern design and configuration standards for the enterprise storage platform.
  • Lead vendor evaluations including RFI/RFP support, technical deep dives, and proof of concepts to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Architect and implement infrastructure changes in collaboration with compute, network, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Improve platform performance and stability by enhancing observability and implementing preventative controls to reduce incidents.
  • Analyze upstream and downstream impacts on authentication, encryption, backup/restore, and network paths for all storage changes.
  • Provide technical consultation and escalation support to SRE teams to drive durable root-cause fixes for complex issues.
  • Utilize AI-enabled engineering workflows to optimize analysis, documentation, and automated knowledge capture.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of enterprise-scale storage experience with significant depth in NAS platforms and services.
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure engineering areas such as hardware, networking, databases, deployment practices, and performance assessments.
  • Demonstrated strength in architecture and standardization, including reference architectures, configuration baselines, and control/guardrail design.
  • Experience with storage products from vendors like NetApp, Dell, VAST Data, Weka, DDN, Pure Storage, or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to support SRE teams during escalations and drive durable root-cause fixes.
  • Experience with public cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), hybrid connectivity, and storage migration concepts (preferred).
  • Experience with automation tools like Terraform or Ansible, CI/CD practices, and Agile methodologies (preferred).
