Lead Engineer - AI Security
As a Lead Engineer on the AI Security team, you will collaborate with technical and leadership teams to assess, validate, and improve the security of AI systems and platforms. You will identify risks in existing implementations, perform architectural reviews, and develop security assessment methodologies, testing frameworks, and assurance standards for AI technologies. Your daily work involves executing validation strategies including threat modeling, attack simulation, and adversarial testing while providing expert guidance on prompt injection defenses, model security, and data protection. The role requires expertise in LLM Security (RAG, MCP, input validation), OWASP Top 10 for Large Language Model Applications, containerization, and cloud security, specifically within GCP environments. You will serve as a trusted advisor to ensure secure deployment patterns for AI workloads across hybrid environments while addressing emerging threats like RAG poisoning and local coding agent risks.
Assess and validate the security posture of AI systems, platforms, and architectures throughout their lifecycle.
Identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and design weaknesses in AI models, agents, and supporting infrastructure.
Develop and execute security validation strategies including threat modeling, attack simulation, and adversarial testing.
Perform deep technical reviews of AI products to provide actionable recommendations for strengthening security posture.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls, guardrails, and mitigations protecting AI applications.
Provide expert guidance on AI-specific risks such as prompt injection, model security, and supply chain security.
Recommend risk mitigation strategies and prioritized remediation plans to improve the resilience of AI systems.
Communicate complex security risks and technical findings to stakeholders to balance business priorities with security needs.
What we're looking for
Must have a 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
Must be a software developer comfortable in several programming languages across different platforms.
Requires 7+ years of hands-on experience in technology and multiple cybersecurity domains including Information Protection, Cloud Security, Networking Security, IAM, Automation, and SIEM.
Must possess LLM security expertise including RAG, MCP, input validation, sandboxing, and OWASP Top 10 for Large Language Model Applications.
Requires a solid understanding of AI/ML, prompt injection styles, containerization technologies, and cryptography.
Must have in-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and ISO/IEC 27001.
Preferred experience includes GCP native security products, Vertex AI, and AWS or Azure environments.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across large enterprise organizations.
