Lead Embedded Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and test embedded software, firmware, platforms, and systems for mission-critical technologies.
• Define and formalize system, hardware, software, and human integration requirements.
• Execute engineering test, validation, and verification activities across various integration environments.
• Implement protocols and algorithms for resource-constrained environments to enable communication between modules.
• Ensure software robustness, resilience, and fail-safe operation while mitigating safety and security vulnerabilities.
• Create detailed design documentation and technical specifications throughout the software development life cycle.
• Propose novel solutions to technical challenges and provide cost and time estimates for future programs.
• Mentor team members and participate in code, design, and requirement reviews.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience or a Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience in CS, Software Engineering, or related STEM fields.
• Proficiency in Ada, C, C++, or equivalent programming languages is required.
• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) to meet export-control requirements.
• Must possess or be able to maintain an active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Experience with real-time systems and developing firmware for mission-critical hardware is required.
• Ability to develop software for resource-constrained environments and implement protocols/algorithms for robust, fail-safe operation.
• Knowledge of network protocols (Layer 2/3), RTOS (Linux, FreeRTOS, QNX, VxWorks), and device drivers is desired.
• U.S. Citizenship.
