Lead Embedded Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and program embedded software modules, features, and entire software products.
• Define and formalize system, hardware, software, and human integration requirements.
• Execute engineering test, validation, and verification activities across diverse integration environments.
• Implement protocols and algorithms for resource-constrained environments and hardware communication.
• Ensure software robustness, resilience, and fail-safe operation for mission-critical devices.
• Create detailed technical documentation and optimize existing applications for new features.
• Participate in code reviews, task prioritization, and mentorship across the software development life cycle.
• Propose novel technical solutions and generate cost and time estimates for future programs.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related embedded software engineering experience or Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM fields.
• Proficiency in Ada, C, C++ or equivalent languages.
• U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain the necessary U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Ability to meet U.S. Person status for access to export-controlled information.
• Must be able to work onsite in Grand Rapids, MI five days per week.
• Master's degree in engineering or computer science (preferred).
• Extensive experience in Ada for embedded software design, development, and testing (preferred).
• Experience with RTOS, networking protocols, and embedded software testing/debugging tools (preferred).
