Lead Database Administrator

What you'll do

• Manage the design, operation, and evolution of PostgreSQL and SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure platforms.
• Lead complex cloud modernization projects including migration strategy, performance validation, and post-migration stabilization.
• Establish database standards, reference architectures, operational runbooks, and governance practices to ensure scalability.
• Design highly available and cost-efficient solutions for disaster recovery, backup, replication, and failover.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and Database-as-Code using Terraform, Liquibase, and CI/CD automation.
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring to ensure operational excellence.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for critical production issues and root cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and DBAs while establishing engineering standards and promoting knowledge sharing across teams.

What we're looking for

• Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of experience in database administration or engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior, lead, architect, or enterprise technical leadership role for production databases.
• 5+ years of experience designing, operating, and optimizing databases in public cloud environments (Microsoft Azure preferred).
• Expert-level PostgreSQL administration including high availability, replication, performance tuning, and upgrades.
• Strong expertise administering SQL Server (2014+) and Azure SQL in enterprise production environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines using Liquibase is preferred.
• Strong automation and scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash are preferred.
