The Senior Database Platform Engineer joins the Database Engineering team to design, build, and operate a standardized platform featuring declarative, code-defined provisioning and automated lifecycle management. The role focuses on treating database infrastructure and schema as code to ensure version-controlled, repeatable deployments while minimizing manual intervention across SQL Server and Snowflake environments. Key responsibilities include implementing high-availability solutions, developing migration tools from legacy systems, and building self-service interfaces with integrated security controls. The candidate will utilize Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, Flyway, Liquibase, or Atlas for schema management, and Python or PowerShell for automation. Additionally, the role involves creating GitOps workflows and observability pipelines using OpenTelemetry, Loki, Prometheus, and Grafana. Technical expertise includes SQL Server performance tuning, Snowflake data modeling, and potentially PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Apache Iceberg, Trino, ClickHouse, Airflow, and dbt.

What we're looking for
Deep expertise in SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, Always On AG, replication, and security hardening.
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, Snowpipe, dynamic tables, RBAC, and cost optimization.
Proficiency with Terraform for database infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
Proven experience with declarative and state-based database deployments using Flyway, Liquibase, or Atlas.
Strong understanding of schema-as-code principles, including versioned migrations, idempotent scripts, and drift detection.
Strong PowerShell and/or Python skills for automation; Go experience is a plus (preferred).
Proficiency with CI/CD processes and GitOps workflows integrating database deployments into DevOps pipelines.
Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Apache Iceberg, Trino, Airflow, dbt, ClickHouse, or monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana (preferred).
