Lead Content Distribution Engineer

What you'll do

• Configure and manage CDN configurations within the Disney Distribution Mesh.
• Manage OpenCache deployments with global ISPs and monitor performance metrics.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Disney Distribution Mesh and manage incidents.
• Develop engineering tooling and automation to integrate third-party CDNs into a unified control plane.
• Identify and implement tuning adjustments for caching configurations to resolve technical issues.
• Provide senior tier-3 on-call evaluation, escalation, and technical support for caching solutions.
• Consult with internal stakeholders on caching solutions and support product-driven initiatives.
• Train and mentor team members on caching technologies and distribution systems.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing caching solutions.
• Understanding of streaming video protocols (HLS) and how it interacts with caching.
• Ability to perform network troubleshooting.
• Experience in a Content Distribution Network environment.
• Knowledge of video players and impact on cache logic.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with HTTP/DNS/Internet Architecture, Varnish, NGINX, HAProxy, AWS, GCP, Python, Ansible, and SSL/TLS (preferred).
